If your helmet has 3/4" straps Sea to Summit makes field repair buckles, for 1/2" straps you'll need to get the buckle sewn in.

Being that this is a safety product your best option is to ask Giro if it can be fixed (I don't think Giro has been using X-Static in their cycling helmets for that long).
