Wearing earbuds is idiotic when moving vehicles are involved, whether roads or MUPs.

I was doing a lap through Central Park day before last, going up the East Side Flats, me and my partner...we're doing like 24-25.. We're in the bike fast lane, it is demarcated as such...I see this younger guy on a skateboard, a good 15' to my right scooting along in the car lane... car comes up and honks, and numbnuts just sails to the left into my line, didn't look, I was braking, avoiding, and yelling, he didn't hear, he realizes something was going on when the edge of his board is grinding against my front wheel, I stayed up and managed to get purchase on his shoulder with my right hand and I threw him to the right.

earbuds... GAH!
