In 6 or 7 years, the same technology will be available in intermediate level road bikes selling for $1,500 to $2,000. In 10 or 12 years, the same technology will be available in entry level road bikes selling for under $1,000.
I have never even seen a $12,000 bike so maybe I should :-). I have seen bikes that were $7,000 that the shop was trying to peddle a few years later at $2,500 and the sales guy thought there was room for negotiation even at that price hehe.
