i realized i have a couple DA hubs here, so i decided to go ahead and build a set of pacentis w/ cx-rays and these DA 9000 hubs. they'll be a bit heavier than the c24s, but i'll run a wider tire setup for training.

probably could have dropped in the h plus son or a23s instead of the pacentis, but it's nice to have the tubeless option. build will probably be 150g heavier than the shimano build due to weight of the rims, but no biggie for my training wheels. will work out as the wife will get light, bomber wheels out of it, too, and she doesn't need more than 23s whereas i'll occasionally ride 25s or 27s.

i appreciate the dialogue. it definitely influenced my decision-making.
Are the hubs 16/20, and if so are you building them yourself? No idea what your wheel building experience is, but I'd be askeered to build a 16/20 wheel myself.
