Have you sought sponsorship from any person or organization? I forget the name of the shop owner that sponsored Lance when he was a teenager but Lance acknowledges his importance early in his career. If you're racing (and especially if you're winning) I bet there may be some folks willing to help out. Do you have a cycling club in town? Check with them too. My first non-police auction bike when I was a teen came after 6 months of saving up doing odd jobs around the house and then my parents kickin' in half. Of course...it wasn't a $1500 bike...but it was about $300...which was a lot back in dark ages.
