How many Formula 1 drivers out there know how to mill a cylinder head? That's a pretty extreme analogy, bikes are a lot simpler than F1 cars, but just because you race doesn't mean you need to know all that much about the technical aspects. That's why people like me have jobs. In the winter I work at a ski shop in Tahoe...we have a fair share of pro ski racers bringing their equipment in. Could they learn how to do base repair, edge tuning and proper wax selection and application techniques? Probably. Is it important? No. Can we do it better? Yes. Would it take time away from what's really important, like winning? Absolutely.
Now...is this dude who's supposedly sponsored by DC really all that? Who knows. Who cares? This is the internet. We're all pros here.
