Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Could you put a spacer between the bearing locknut and the inside of the shroud to give it's nut something solid to tighten against while leaving it clear of the hub shell?
