What cyclists fought against bike share programs? I've only heard about personnel/owners of bike stores that have bike rental concessions whining about competition.
The one I am most familiar with was one of the advocacy groups in GA arguing that they represented a safety issue for all cyclists due to inexperienced riders, and poor understanding of cycling rules and laws. Most of their 'data' was based upon incident reports from other bike share programs where they showed a lot of salmoning, sidewalk/crosswalk and helmet less usage. IT was all BS, but it slowed down the process
