You also know nothing about riding on Western Interstates. Cyclists do not not act like suicidal jerks and ride in the traffic lanes on Western Interstates when such roads have legal to ride, wide, and very well paved shoulders on those roads. My experience was bike commuting on I80N (now designated I84 near Pendelton, OR. Noisy from the high speed traffic but quite safe.
Wow! In Michigan you can't even take a motorcycle on the interstate if its engine is smaller than 125cc. I can't imagine cycling on the interstate alongside 80mph semi trucks! It's bad enough when they overtake you at 45 on a 2-lane road.
That psycho who thought it was ok to take a whole lane on a 4-lane divided highway was just trying to cause trouble. She didn't have a case to start with, but maybe she was trying to get the state to paint little pictures of bikes on the shoulder?
