granted, it's all a spectrum, but the drive for more money more money more money among young people my age surprises me. i obviously understand this all changes with a wife, kid, etc.
It's not always about money. Some people just want to succeed in their career as much as possible. I can't stand the thought of cranking away repetitive crap at my desk my entire life, like I see some people do in my office. At guess at some point that's desirable, and I know I have enjoyed it at times when I was training because it allowed me to get the hours in. But now I'm striving for more.
I agree with your statement about happiness though, if you can find personal happiness. I find it easier to work more than to be happy, haha.
