7% seems like an awful lot IMO. And I guess I'm the only one that doesn't understand how a fixed bike in a wind tunnel translates to a distance improvement. I understand you can measure the drag flowing over the body but the body and the bike are not moving forward into the wind with the wind as a force in the opposite direction...no matter how hard the wind blows you won't move forward or backward (until you get to hurricane force winds that blow you right off the bike but I don't think that is what is being demonstrated).
In any case I'll be keeping my hairy arms and legs and doing my best not to look like a cyclist


Agreed!....because if those wind tunnel stats were applicable?....folks wouldn't bother packing parachutes....they'd just grab four wigs and jump!
