Appreciate your well written response, but I would point out that the OP wants to be able to see further down the road, rather than wanting more light. If more light doesn't mean a noticeable increase in being able to see further down the road, I don't think it meets what the OP was asking for.

(If the question had been "I can't see road details when it rains", then doubling the light output would help.)
