I pretty much live in landscaping pants... these have a zip off leg and are 10 oz cotton duck which is breathable, water resistant, and tough.
The cargo pockets are handy for keeping all my stuff organized and really good when I ride the recumbent as then I don't worry about losing stuff.
Any brands that you like? I like the idea of cotton duck pants; then all I'd need is a carradice bag to sort of complete the ensemble,
