As to why I said "inaccurate"- it is because of my own experience. I don't have the best eyesight, so when I was shopping for a new bath scale that I could read, I took three different ones, lined them up side by side, and none of them matched any of the others. So now whenever I need a true reading instead of an estimate, I use the one at the Doc's office (because that thing gets calibrated on a regular basis).
