Well it's on the internet so it must be true!!!
Just so you know a pro's road bike weighs 15 lbs. You can buy lighter bikes than that but they cost near to and often over $10,000.
The shipping weight of a low end hybrid, including a box and other packing materials, is unlikely to weigh half of that.
