Not on a bike, but...

I was at a customer's house doing some warranty work (grouting) on a house we built and I had to wash a bucket out back. Huge pitbull tied up to the shed (with a huge cable, looked like 0 gauge) just laying around sleeping, no biggie. I go in and BS with the owner about the dog, blah, blah, blah... turns out to be a 105 pound pitbull - didn't look that huge, but it was laying down.

After finishing up, I had to go back outside to wash again. This time the dog's up and barking - still no biggie, but I realize how huge it is now. Keep looking over the shoulder just to be sure it stays put. I wash up and start heading in, bucket in one hand and a grout float in the other (rubber and magnesium). As soon as I start moving the dog freaks out and starts tugging it's rope, barking like crazy. Now I'm a little freaked out.

I start walking to the house, ignoring the dog, then he stopped barking and it sounded like he was panting heavy. I look over and he's heading right at me full speed, with the rope and a piece of the shed dragging behind him. I dodge the first bite attempt and then keep using the grout float to block his bites by hitting him on the nose. I kept backing my way to the house to try and make a run for it.

The dumbass owner comes out and startles my attention away from the dog (I thought there may have been another dog) and the dog breaks my float. Owner keeps yelling **** at the dog, but he's already snapped and no calming down was in sight. The owner tried to grab his collar and got bit pretty badly. He kinda panics and goes to wash out his cut at the hose while the dog's busy with me. What an ass.

So I'm avoiding the dog's bites with my palms (hitting his nose to block his teeth) and eventually he ends up biting my leg. It hurt. No more playing nice.

I end up tackling the thing, still getting scraped up and bitten a bit, but I have him on his stomach. I tried twisting the collar to choke him out, but it wasn't working. After a few attempts I gave him an elbow drop to his throat which ended up crushing his trachea and eventually killing him. I felt like a dick for doing so, but even the owner said it was leading up to that point. Owner apologized, made sure I wasn't going to sue or anything, and sent me off. I told him thanks for being such a great help (sarcastic). I took the rest of the day pretty easy.

All in all, I like dogs. I've never been afraid of a dog before in my life. Pitbulls are just bred to be completely insane. Just for reference, I'm 6'3" 225 and workout regularly. I never thought a dog could attack and hurt me, but part of it is the fact that you don't really want to hurt the dog to calm it down. Oh well.
