Bikes: Specialized Expedition

As much as I appreciate the physical improvements of cycling, the mental ones are much more important for me. I can't wait to get home from work for a quick 10-15 miles on the Monon trail, then weekends are 20 miles+ with my wife. At a time where so many of my contemporary 55 year olds are bouncing grandchildren on their knees, or torturing golf balls, I'm cranking for dear life trying to get out of the way of some KOM guy with an SUV sized child trailer going 25 mph... Uphill.

I just wish I had gotten into this 10 years ago. When I turned 50 I got back into photography with a roar, now I'm learning a new language, and now this.

That and the camaraderie of fellow cyclists at work, random ones in the paths, streets, LBS's, and of course here. Twenty years ago I thought my hometown of Carmel, Indiana was crazy for blowing serious money on MUP's and a walkable / bike-able downtown. Now I can see why.
