Why take a truck when a sports car is so much more fun to drive and can knock hours and hours off of your trip time on long road trips?

It's not just I'm being a porsche purist, I'm, let's say, an efficiency purist. Obviously a road bike won't be efficient on the trails, or a DH bike won't be efficient on the road. But nothing can stop you doing so. This may be an extreme example, but makes my point. It's just not efficient for me.
Although you can get to your trails a little faster, you can never go as fast as driving without a bike on your roof, or you can never fit all your gear as comfortably as you fit them in a truck. These are facts, and I'm sure everyone will agree. About the roof rack, if there is demand, of course they will build it. They are making money out of this. I know people who wouldn't buy the car just because it doesn't have those mounting points; especially in North America which is a huge market for them.
Anyway, that's what I think
