You can always drive faster than a truck however. The rack limits the upper end, above 160 mph but only slightly affects cornering limits(due to a slightly higher CG). It's not an issue on public roads.

I have no trouble fitting as much gear as I and a passenger have need for week+ roadtrips, even with the back seat storage somewhat limited due to the roll bar.
