Today is a new milestone, one year of consecutive bike commutes without driving in. Even though it was fewer commuting miles than previous years (3,650 vs 4,400) the winter was rough enough that I feel like I accomplished something.
Still it was tempting to drive in today with the thunderstorms predicted. I did beat the rain here, just barely, and I'm glad I resisted the temptation.

Woke up to a huge blob of rain over the city that was taking its sweet time moving along. I opted for the car, but was wishing I hadn't. There was a huge accident that shut down two or three lanes, backups for miles. Talking 45 minutes to drive 6+ miles ... I bailed and went through downtown, but ugh.
