you don't need anything keirin or campy. there are plenty of companies that make EXCELLENT (phil wood for one) and reasonably priced (iro, formula) track stuff that will take most anything you can throw at it.
building an all-njs/campy/10-pitch bike (all of which i have either done or am doing) is a an obsessive, expensive, and ultimately silly exercise.
(but it's a HELL of a lot of fun, and there is nothing like going for that first ride on a newly-finished project, especially one that's taken a really long time to put together.
delayed gratification doesn't get enough respect).
