Both valves work fine.
IF your rim is drilled for Presta, a Schraeder stem is too large.

One of my bikes has one each and both tires need to be topped off the same.

I carry an adapter on my keychain so I can use a gas station pump if needed.
My LBS charged me $1 for one.
