I haven't yet optimised my seat height yet - i forgot to take a measurement of my roadie i sold to make way for this new bike. So during the first few rides, instead of bringing a multi tool to adjust my seat post, i'll be carrying a hack-saw for the ISP?
I would cut it tall and verify it is too high. Then measure the total height of the supplied spacers. Then cut it again to remove that amount. Start with all the spacers inserted. It will be too tall. On a ride you can remove spacers. If you remove them all, and it is still too tall, wait until you get back to the LBS to cut it again by say 1/4 the spacer height. And so on until you get it right but still have spacers in the stack to give you adjustability both up and down. No cutting on a ride needed.
