Vast reduction in packaged, industrialized, labeled foods. Start making most of your own stuff, from scratch. Cut out the stuff you can't pronounce, the chemicals that you don't know the impacts of. Dramatically cut back on carbs, particularly ones not containing huge amounts of soluble and insoluble fiber; better still, go "raw" (fruits, veggies) to get that fiber.
I don't eat any of this stuff: Fish, shellfish, poultry, lean meats. Period.
Breakfast today was walnuts, sundried tomatoes, egg, queso fresco, lots of broccoli... all wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla and cut in half and split with the wife.
Lunch was a banana, hand full of walnuts and raisins.
Dinner this evening is two corn tortillas, with queso fresco (simple raw cheese), pico de gallo (chopped tomatoes, chilis, onion and cilantro) with black beans and cabbage. Wife will have chicken too... I will not. I will add corn and onion to black beans for my taco mix and just have a couple tablespoons of seasoned black beans on the side.
Tortillas are packaged fresh daily, black beans came out of a can and we add onions, chili powder and camino. So what is in the can of black beans... Black beans, water, salt, sugar, and onion... S&W black beans. No chemicals, nothing I can't pronounce.
Been eating like this for years.
Tomorrow for breakfast probably similar wrap... Maybe lean it more toward leftover black beans with raw onion, or add avocado.
Dinner will likely be romaine salad with stir fried veggies... especially broccoli and sugar snap peas and probably mushrooms and a red bell pepper (know we have all those in fridge... and thus likely to use.)
No meat. None. Zip, nada. I cook it for my wife and son, as I cook well on the grill, but I don't eat it. Son is starting to pick up my cooking techniques. I grill veggies often.
Yeah, I used to eat meat... but stopped, some 6-7 years ago.
Love making my own soups... split pea, potato, lentil... just to name a few. Good stuff.
