Oh, and honestly, some cycling specific gear, especially bottoms,for your rec rides will make them more enjoyable. Padded shorts are basic, but bib shorts are better; some tights to throw on over extend cool weather comfort. Also look at cycle specific casual pants like the REI Novara commuter pant. Jerseys are great, too, for certain types of rides where you're really getting after it.
