Dude... It was a literary reference because Marquez wrote "One Hundred Years of Solitude". I believe he also wrote that story in which a boy walks around the village and everyone is kind of dreamy and quiet and it turns out they're all dead or he's dead or some such. Maybe I should have alluded to Cholera?
