In Portland this issue was addressed with public shaming. Posting that YOUR business is not 'bike friendly' is probably as bad as being called a card cheat. In a place with a 'vibrant bike community' I would suggest raising a public fuss. Get one business to budge and the rest follow. For those in car-topia.. I cannot offer a suggestion. except close your account. Or figure the lowest financial footprint you can achieve.
