I would say maybe a Fuji, even a Jamis really would do it. You are 17, you still will probably grow so you will be most likely selling this bike in about 2 or so years bc of fit. I would say do some research, get familiar with bicycles and terminology and stuff like that. Then try to find a deal on Craigslist if you know what you are looking for, but safest bet for a beginner is a blow out from 2013/14 from a Local Bike Shop. They usually have a few left over models that they are looking to get their money back with. Thats how I picked my 2013 Cervelo R3 for factory cost. Also, dont be afraid to shop around, look farther than a 10 mile radius. I drove an hour from Philly all the way to Delaware for my R3, and I am so happy I searched farther than local for it.
