I have a Sunrace freewheel on one bike & several with various Suntour freewheels - all with friction shifting. I think the SunRace is a tiny bit quieter during the shift (they all have same chain - KMC X8.93). The Suntour gives me more audible & tactile feedback that the shift is secure. I wouldn't go as far as saying the chain "clunks" as it settles on to the desired cog, but I definitely know when the chain is where it needs to be.
