My 1-hour hillclimb last week was nearly 1500 calories.
I usually do KJ measured by the power meter, multiplied by 1.1 for kcal.
I have no idea what kind of power I create. I am 6'3" and weigh 260 now and 240 in best case conditions. I think I do pretty good for a fat old man who just started 3 years ago. I wonder if you would burn more calories in the altitudes I ride in? Denver and above. My house is about 5400 ft. Last year I did a test and was able to make 450 watts for 20 mins in a test. Never did anything with that info. I suck climbing, Duh

but I'm working very hard at it. I am struggling with my weight and have started to try to figure how many REAL calories I burn and how many I eat worth. That's why I was wondering if I could count on my Garmin's calorie date
