A while ago I was out on a group ride. It was early in the season and I barely had the legs to keep up the pace. Not long into the ride, on a slight uphill grade I was really struggling to stay with the line. I felt a hand on the small of my back, then I got a forceful but very smooth push forward. That was enough to get me back with the line, and a moral boost that helped me keep up with the group for the rest of the ride. The guy that gave me the shove I had met for the first time only minutes before. His timing was impeccable.
