I have a much loved classic Trek 520 (1993) but have minimal bar clearance. I was sold a frame that was too big. Makes dismounting precarious and worrisome especially when loaded for touring. Love the bike otherwise. Any thoughts on resolving this issue without abandoning this bike? has anyone switched out to a 26 inch wheel (I have no objections to 26") by moving the brake braze-ons? Other ideas?
