Why anyone would ever suggest its ok to ride fixed gear without some kind of foot retention is beyond me and is definitely not someone id take advice from. Even with brakes its dangerous.
wtf are you talking about? How is it different than riding a normal bike without foot retention. Last I checked mountain biking is far more strenuous and hard core and half those guys just use wide spiky platforms.
