Not really understanding what you intend to get out of this, you have a wheelset which uses proprietary parts, being realistic, once the rim needs replacing, you just replace the wheel.

What rim are you intending to replace the stock one with? Are there any out there which are light weight and 48 hole?

WHat spec are the spokes, a quick Google earch shows the current TLR rim as having J bends, but it's not got paired spokes, older paired spoke wheels have straight pull hubs, getting spokes for this (it this is the case) will be harder.

The current TLR is also a low end wheel, can't see what you are intending to do as being cost effective vs getting a complete wheel from another source. Having all those unfilled holes is going to look real bad as well.
