To do painting right, costs money. Any tool can rattle can a frame for $10USD in materials plus the cost of manpower. Making it look good, and not mucking up threadings etc, and all around doing it right costs money and the people who do it need to earn a living.

You have to strip the frame, prep it for painting, cover threadings, prime it, then there's the cost of good paints like auto paints...and any clearcoats etc.
