My bikes mean nothing to me after my death.

If my executor decides to sell a $1000 bike for $10, then some lucky person will get a great deal. Although, I do plan to record approximate values for a couple of my bikes just so they have some idea what they might be worth. In my case the executor is also already the sole beneficiary of all of my possessions... which makes it simple.
