Well, yeah. I was going to delete my post as I'm only used to 4 mm shifter housing. But there must be 5 mm ID ferrules available.
If not, I was thinking I could whip one of these up on the lathe in a jiffy.

What I meant was the inside diameter of the bore through the cable stop braze on, on the stay.
