Newbie - Flip-Flop Hub bearing seems crooked
Greetings. First post on this forum, though I frequent another mountain biking forum.
I have some limited experience with tooling around on my MTB, and recently purchased a commuter bike.
The bike I bought is the "Motobecane Fixie Cafe + Carbon Forks Fixie Flat Bar Track Bikes 1 Speed Aluminum" 2015 through bikesdirect. My first instinct was to save up and buy a Surly, but the bike theft around here has me skiddish, so I went entry-level.
This is my first commuter bike and I slapped whatever wasn't assembled together when I got it. I have been futzing around on it for the past week and noticed a clicking sound when pedaling. So, I grabbed some grease and gave the bike a once over. On further inspection, I noticed that when the back wheel was spinning freely in the free-wheel side of the hub, the chain was "pulsing". It looks like the bearing inside the hub is not true. No amount of adjusting the wheel on the frame makes any difference.
It is nothing too noticeable, but I want to get some opinions if it is something to worry about. I am not going to be doing races or doing much more than commuting <10miles a day.
Anything I can do? Take the bike in to the shop? Ride the hub as it is until it rots?
Thanks in advance.
