One of the most important pre-century things I've discovered I need is extra sleep. I need a couple nights of 8+ hours prior to the century to help me feel alert and energetic throughout the century.

Other than that, for me, it is important to keep up with the hydration and nutrition immediately before, and during, the century ... using the same hydration and nutrition that worked for me in the shorter rides leading up to the century.
