Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

That was my first thought too but this bar is factory drilled and set up for internal cable routing so it not like the OP is going to drill holes in something not meant to have them.

The OP's comment about how they used to drill out aluminum bars for internal brake cables would worry me a lot more.
