This guy has 3 U-locks and basically the same protection as a guy using 1. Also, why don't you super glue some ball bearings in the Allen bolt heads of the front rack instead of U-locking it? $10 solution to a 5c problem.
All valid points, but I think the objective here has been achieved - no one is going to attempt to steal the bike, probably - however imperfectly that plan was implemented.
