Welcome to the Forum, I'm a Supersport and Varsity/Continental fan myself.
Looking forward to pictures as your project comes along. The Schwinns with the taller frames catch my eye, give me enough top tube length to work with when riding at a sporting intensity.
I was finally able to raise my Supersport's tire pressure a good bit (safely to 80psi with 1-1/8" tires) by laying a thicker rim tape in, though it was a real challenge to get the wide Velox tape in place going "wall to wall" across the undulating inner rim surface. I'll have to keep an eye on the tape's placement over time, too bad that this particular model of Weinmann rim seems just small enough (in diameter) to allow a tire's bead to lift in places. I even contemplated a layer of hard epoxy glue to take up slack in the tire's bead, perhaps painted on along the lower ledge of the inside corners. Not such an easy fix, as various brands of tires all seemed to be limited to reliable pressures no higher than 70-75psi!
I was looking for a blue one for a few years, but was quite happy to find this one a few years back, now modified for a sporting 6-speed freewheel, still using an Allvit derailer and steel cranks and kickstand for "sleeper" value on a bike that I ride hard these days. I've tried to get this photo to fit a normal computer screen, hope it worked.

I've gotten pretty interested in steel bikes lately, after reading and researching, I settled on the Super Sport. The construction is unique and intriguing, it's close to indestructible, and it just struck me as good value for an old bike. I picked up the Schwinn, it was quite rideable, ready to use- I didn't give it an extended test ride, just a little bit on a long rural driveway- but I got a nice vibe from it, so I grabbed it. What was not original? It had a Varsity/Continental saddle and wore a steel Schurmann front wheel assembly. The frame has scraped paint on every tube, so I'll repaint in the future (the color looks to match my '69 GMC pickup). The wheels are off tonight, didn't get to ride it today as I blew a rear tube, thanks to that Weinmann rim letting the bead slide off. With that in mind, I've got some new weinmanns coming as well as a proper Schwinn hub. I'm really liking this bike.
I never has a Schwinn as a kid but rode my friends' Varsities and Continentals a lot. It's been an enjoyable trip down memory lane.
