Around my area there is no one that would know what a Brooks saddle is and wouldn't believe that it cost more than a Wal-Mart bike anyway. You don't post where you live, so maybe there is, or maybe there isn't any organized bike thieves that know to look for higher priced chunks of bikes. I've never had any problems with lights, computer, bungees, bottles, tools or even sunglasses being bothered on my bikes.

I think most bike thefts are a crime of opportunity.....it can be exchanged for a dime bag. It all depends on where you leave it and the chances of a crackhead getting away with stealing anything off of it. A CAAD10 or an Emonda is of equal value to anything from Wal-Mart when traded for crack or weed. They don't know or care how much what they seal is worth as long as they can trade it for a high.
