I just realized the bike I purchased is a 2005 model. It was brand new, and the owner said he thought it was a fairly recent model (~2012). It was a good deal though; the Bike Blue Book said that I actually got a fair deal for the bike; going price for a like new bike of my kind is over 380; I only paid 350.

Thinking about it this bike is almost 10 years old, but it looks brand new.

Does this just mean that the parts were sitting around on some shelf for the last 9 years or so and someone just recently decided to assemble it?

Does this affect the bike in any way?
