I guess without a torque wrench you'd have to tighten the stem just enough to keep the front wheel under control, and leave it there for fear of crushing the tube. Has anyone ever torqued a carbon steerer to failure just to see how high you'd need to go?
Wouldn't you think there are so many variables involved that a sample of ONE would be pretty stastically bankrupt? But go ahead, and then report back...
