OK, so srs question, and I am prepared to get totally ridiculed here:

How often do you need to replace your chain on a SS/FG bike?

I ride my ss/fg pretty seldomly, like maybe <20mi/week on average throughout the year. Still, the chain has to be worn out pretty bad; it's been easily 1.5years (2?) since it's been replaced.

I ride and maintain my road bikes regularly, but can be negligent of my FG bike. Low maintenance is a lot of the reason why I own it, but I may have taken that too far.

Will I experience any downsides besides prematurely wearing down my cog and chainring? I don't notice any decrease in the performance of the drivetrain.
