im the loving owner of a few bikes. Tricked out Cove Stiffee FR, Mongoose BMX, Campagnola groupset hand built road bike and a wobbly opposite steer bright yellow funky clown bike. But today i rebuilt and upgraded a Dawes Tracker ATB bike... ( circa sometime in the 80s i think )

Original shimano Octolink ovalized crankset ( which i had to replace with spare xt bottom bracket, deore cranks and middleburn rings ) they're the ones that really bugger your knees and the bottom bracket was about to fall out. Shame. Three finger shimano sti brake levers and canti brakes. Thay work just fine when set up right Thumb lever shimano sti gear pods. Running sweet and possibly better than my XT on my cove Spent most of the afternoon working on buckled back wheel and got it running nice and true...

It's an old but loverly bike. I dont whether it had been nicked a long time ago or any-thing about it's past ( if someone can prove it was thiers they can happily have it back ) or where it came from. But i've spent all day fettling and tinkering, looking and thinking to conclude that it's a loverly bike and designed for it's time. Basicly a road bike with studded tyres and flat handle bars. But fallen for it I have and loved it will be..

Dont know why I'm telling you this but i just had to tell folk that an old bike is resurected and back rolling again.

Thanks

pea.
