Why'd you decide to go for the ablation? The reason I ask is that I've been in atrial fib for about 15 years, on warfarin since the beginning, and my cardiologist (who's a progressive and exercise-oriented guy, an ultradistance runner and cyclist) has discouraged it. Might be because I have almost no symptoms, and the blood thinner hasn't caused me any problems other than occasional bruises, but he's recommended waiting awhile, and maybe never doing it at all (I'm 60, so it's not like we have to look 50 years down the road). I tolerate exercise well, haven't changed my lifestyle except to try not to fall off the bike, and if I didn't know I were in fib, I'd probably be unaware of it.
