and all else being equal, a $10K road bike is faster than a $150 Huffy mountain bike, but not by much. I'm not sure if the Huffy is equipped with "Magna action" suspension forks or not, or if this is before or after someone takes the time to disassemble it and grease everything.
Also, progressive riders in the TDF and Giro are going to ditch their bikes in favor of longboards on the downhill sections in the near future due to speed increases.
At least that is my take home message.
