If anything, I am impressed with your stout fortitude. I am not so dedicated. I am also reminded why I left the mid-west for the left coast, where I am morally a minority...
I cycled to my work yesterday. 15 km - 9 miles, but the surface became more slippery. I cycled home in the evening very slowly and still nearly crashed couple of times on the sheer ice.
I have the feeling that I need the special winter tires for cycling on the ice.
As for the "mid-west" issue, I would not completely agree. Actually I see that I like cycling in winter very much. There is no dirt and no dust. No sweat. The only problem is the slippery surface. I will just try to find good winter tires.
I heard they make them in Finland.
Today I commuted by walking those 15 km.
